Revisionist Modern Mythologies

There's a new phenomenon that is only recently possible for the first time in the human race. Before, if there was a movie that wasn't watched but had a solid premise, one could remake it several years later with your own vision, as a newer official version.

More recently, if a movie was popular enough, one could make a parody; the more popular, the easier.

Now there is a new branch of this showing itself, and it's hard to explain, but it's awesome. It's not quite fan fiction.

I guess the only way to describe them are Revisionist Modern Mythologies. Guru introduced me to one set in the Mario universe, a tragic drama that was both hilarious and heartbreakingly awesome. I distinctly marvelled.

But my brother has just introduced me to a new series. Imagine the Mario brother's universe and Sonic the Hedgehog, but Dragon Ball Z style. With cameos from many different games. I bet you won't get all of them!

Action heavy and with a similar plot, this is as good as the above series... if not better? Maybe? The best thing about it is that it's still ongoing! I want the DVD...

  1. Man, in terms of sheer dramatic inspiration, the Mario Saga easily wins. It's genuinely powerful and tragic! I love that series, and I didn't know he'd made the final chapter! I saw it just now... so sad. *sniffs*

    And the Mario Bros. Z one? AWESOME!! It's just like Dragonball Z except the fights are even better! And it's... well, it's just better overall.

    Seriously, those are some of the coolest fights I've ever seen...
