Art: Treff

Every now and again I wake up in the middle of the night and write down some strange, random thought I had while sleeping. I then find the text the next morning waiting for me, though I barely remember it - They are reliably insane.


Evidently, I now do that with illustrating as well.

I found the above picture open in a Flash document and I do... vaguely remember getting up in the middle of the night to draw this. I also remember having the whole book planned out in my head. I wish I had have written that down as well.

I don't know who or what 'TREFF AND HIS DIRTY, FANCY SHOES' is, nor do I have ANY idea what it means - or what the story might entail. (I think my Grandmother had a loyal dog named Treff...?)



Any ideas? What happens in the book?

  1. I have no idea what any of those things mean, but THEY ARE AWESOME! randomness is so0o0o0o0ooo delicious!

    Perhaps treff's dirty fancy shoes whern't always dirty, perhaps there is a storey in how they ended up as such.

  3. i was thinking that the shoes demand respect but they smell and he cant decide what to do. like the time i bought these awesome vans from savers that looked awesome but smelled atrotious.

  5. or maybe the shoes had three previous owners and treff experiences parts of their lives through a strange shoe time travel. Then he's hardly ever present for his own life and his friends start wondering where he's spending all his time.

  8. Another possibility is that Treff's shoes Are sentient, and say dirty things and behave in a devious and fancy manner.

    Imagine a pair of gold filigreed leather cuff boots, saying lecherous things to passers by whilst smoking a long ivory pipe.
